He holds degrees in Aircraft Engineering, and Business Management with high interest in green technology, information technology, and Fatigue Management.

Eng. Maryam Al-Balooshi is the first Arab expert in the field of Aviation Environment started in 2006, to become the founder of Aviation Environment in UAE and the region. One of the First expert in the world seconded to the Department of Environment in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO-UN) in 2010. UAE Official representative in the Committee of Aviation Environment Protection (CAEP-ICAO) since 2016, Elected as CAEP Vic Chair in Oct 2023.

Alejandro Ríos is the Director of the Sustainable Bioenergy Research Consortium (SBRC) at Khalifa University of Science and Technology (KU). The SBRC was established in 2011 and has as its founding members The Boeing Company, Etihad Airways and UOP-Honeywell, that together with Safran, GE, ADNOC Refining and Bauer Resources, are spearheading research in the use of salt water and halophytes for the production of sustainable aviation fuels.

She is currently the Head of Sustainability for Abu Dhabi Airports and has previously worked for Dubai Airports and multiple international consultancies specialising in sustainability.

Matteo Michelia

Matteo is a consultant for Power-to-X fuels at the German Energy Agency, where he analyses the current technology and policy landscape to develop insights for German and European policymakers, and industry. Matteo holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Berlin Institute of Technology and further specialized in Climate Change Adaptation and Environmental Policy at the University of Michigan (MS level). His main expertise lies in the fields of PtX technologies, windpower engineering, environmental sustainability, and climate change adaptation.

Henrik von Storch

Henrik von Storch holds a PhD in Energy and Environmental Engineering from RWTH Aachen University. He joined DHL Group in 2018 and played a key role in various decarbonization initiatives. From 2021 to 2024, he led DHL Group’s Clean Operations Office, coordinating the development and implementation of the company’s sustainability roadmap. Henrik’s responsibilities included defining Science Based Targets, establishing a Sustainable Fuel Policy, promoting Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) use, and implementing a Book & Claim approach.
